Quatro: 2012 Golden Fiddle Awards WINNER!: Category of Best Youth Achievement
Quatro is a dynamic young female group of very talented musicians. All the girls are highly classically trained with countless awards and accolades between them. Quatro play a mixture of modern, Celtic and crossover styles, incorporating dance and vocals to make them a unique band with an electrifying vitality.
The lead player, Amity, has performed with the likes of Little Britain, Bindi Irwin, Totally Wild and Outback 8. Incorporating this stage experience with music and joining forces with equally artistic Claudia, Vanessa and Radha to bring a colossal energy to the group. Amity has many state and national awards in violin, vocals, musical theatre and acting and completed her Amus A at the age of 15, and is now preparing for her Lmus A.
Claudia is the latest recruit to the group and the youngest member. She comes with a wealth of musical experience and has won many awards in both violin and vocals. She is the current state champion in both instrument and vocals and has been the recipient of many musical accolades. She is currently studying for her Amus A in Violin and is continuing with her studies in Piano and Vocals.
Vanessa also has been gracing stages from an early age. She topped the state in her very first drama exam and has been the recipient of many awards on viola, vocals and acting. She was additionally given a music scholarship in Year 6. With Vanessa’s perfect pitch she is the harmony specialist. She and Amity studied with international soloist Professor Grube on a three month scholarship in Germany and she is also studying for her Amus A in Viola.
Radha is a talented cellist who has enjoyed playing the Cello since moving from Kenya to Australia in 2002. Introduced to the cello by her friend and mentor Peter Rickert, she has quickly progressed through her Grades and is enjoying success with the group.
