The Northern Suburbs Pipe Band was originally formed in 1952 and adopted the Wallace tartan for the band kilt.  From it’s beginnings the band has been highly successful in pipe band competitions having won State and Australian Championships in its grade.

The Northern Suburbs pipe band takes part in major Sydney and local street marches performs at private and commercial functions, and on social occasions where total entertainment is required.   Many of the members are successful solo piping and drumming competitors whilst others are prize-winning highland dancers and accomplished musicians on other Scottish and orchestral instruments.

Each ANZAC Day the band plays at the Commando Association service in Martin Place and leads the Commando Units in the parade.  The band regularly participates in the “Brigadoon Festival” at Bundanoon, the largest function of it’s type in Australia and also the Great ANZAC Tatoo. Recent Events also include the Masuri Japanese Cultural Day for the last six years and the Arab Emirates Race Day for the last two years.

The Band’s Pipe Major, Robert Pearce, is one of Australia’s leading pipers, tutors and bagpipe makers.  Robert was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 1998, for services to pipe bands.  Currently he is the NSW State Champion piper and the State Principal of the Australian Pipe Band College.

We can arrange solo bagpipers as well as small and large groups consisting of pipers, drummers and of course the Drum Major for clients.  The functions have ranged from wedding ceremonies to large corporate events.  The musicians always dress in full Scottish regalia, which always adds to the pomp and ceremony of occasions.
