Cassy and The Bossa Beats have been playing around Sydney since October 1989  .Originally the band's repertoire was made up of Brazilian jazz music, with it's unique dance feels such as the samba and the bossa nova. The range of music that the band now performs has however expanded greatly to include music from Cuba, North American jazz, Blues and Funk, and original music.

Errol H. Renaud was born in the Caribbean twin island state of Trinidad and Tobago. He started as an entertainer with the Ujamaa performing company and the culture of the Caribbean became a way of life. He has been to over twenty countries spreading the message of Soca, Reggae, Calypso, the Steelpan, limbo and other music and dance from his birth place. he toured with the famous Trinidad Cavaliers for three years, and has formed his own bands called Tnt Heatwave, Creole, T-Vibes, Caribbean Soul and was an original member of the first authentic reggae band that was formed in Australia - Un-Tabu.
